Jakarta, March 8 2024 – Tourism BUMN Holding and its supporters, PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney, held a 15,000 tree planting activity on Friday, March 8 2024. The tree planting activity was carried out simultaneously by all InJourney Group members in all operational work areas in Indonesia with the center of activities held at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII).
This activity was attended by around 1,000 management and employees from the InJourney Group. Not only planting trees, this activity which was a kick off or a sign of the start of the "InJourney Green" movement was enlivened with fun bikes, fun walks and also green talks. This activity was carried out in order to support InJourney's mission to build a sustainable tourism ecosystem in Indonesia through implementing green initiatives in every aspect of InJourney's operations with 3 pillars, namely Sustainable Operations, Sustainable Tourism Destinations, and Sustainable Environment.
"This is a small step to encourage the growth of sustainable tourism, namely tourism that is oriented towards long-term impacts on the social, economic and environmental sectors. We also invite all employees at InJourney Group to start living a sustainable living lifestyle. "Because encouraging a low carbon or net zero emission (NZE) tourism sector starts with ourselves," said InJourney's Main Director, Dony Oskaria.
InJourney realizes that the contribution of the tourism sector to achieving the NZE target in 2060 is very significant. Therefore, InJourney Group continues to be committed to creating green and sustainable tourism through a series of activities in various tourism destinations, and also in corporate practices. InJourney Group will also continue to collaborate with stakeholders to make this initiative a reality.
InJourney has implemented green initiatives in various tourism destination development programs, one of which is in creating attractions and events. Some of the international events held include the Indonesian GP or Mandalika MotoGP, F1Powerboat, Aquabike World Championship, and several other events. Green initiatives will continue to be implemented in tourism development programs and InJourney events in the future.
